Partnerships

Equestrian organizations that Troxel is proud to support.

National Little Britches Rodeo Association

The NLBRA is the only national youth rodeo association offering competition events for athletes ages 5-19. As the information on head trauma grows and parents desire to explore preventative options increases, Troxel and NLBRA joined forces in an effort toincrease helmet use in younger demographics.

To celebrate this partnership, we've launched a very special program exclusive to National Little Britches Association members that pledge to wear an equestrian helmet: NLBRA #TeamTroxel.

Certified Horsemanship Association

CHA's mission is to change lives through safe experiences with horses. They’ve been making an impact on equestrians across the United States since 1967 and have successfully certified over 30,000 riding instructors, barn managers and trail guides. They’re also the largest certifying body of riding instructors and barn managers in North America.

Given CHA and Troxel’s joint commitment to protecting the equestrian community, partnering to foster helmet education and rider safety was a natural fit for both organizations.

To kick off our alliance, Troxel sponsored the March 2019 episode of CHA’s Training Tuesdays on the “Horses in the Morning” Radio Show. CHA CEO Christy Landwehr and Horse Radio Network founder Glenn the Geek interviewed CHA instructors Anne Brzezicki and Keli Wakeley about grooming tips and tricks. In addition, Troxel’s Brand Manager, Jenny Beverage, joined to discuss what riders should look for when purchasing an equestrian helmet and when a rider should replace their helmet. Listen to the recorded show and watch for future updates.

National Barrel Horse Association

The National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA), headquartered in Augusta, Georgia, is the largest barrel racing organization in the world with over 23,000 members in twelve countries. Their NBHA Youth World Championship, held annually, is the largest youth barrel race in existence. We're thrilled to be sponsoring this year's event happening July 21-27 in Perry, Georgia.

Troxel will be offering the first-ever Helmet Side Pot at the NBHA 2019 Youth World Championships. The $500 added money side pot will be open to all competitors who are wearing any brand of helmet. The Troxel team will also be on site to meet competitors, answer questions, and promote the importance of rider safety. Plus Troxel Athlete and World Champion Barrel Racer Fallon Taylor will be making a special appearance.

We excited for the opportunity to support more young athletes and can't wait to meet this year's competitors.

Time To Ride

Time To Ride®, a program of the American Horse Council’s Marketing Alliance, is designed to introduce school-age children to horseback riding and horse care in a safe, welcoming environment. The goal is to familiarize school-age children with horses through an initial series of lessons that include basic horse care as well as riding. The program emulates the golf industry’s The First Tee, in which school-age kids are introduced to golf through a series of lessons at a local golf course.

Beginning in 2019, this program will select 20-30 facilities across the U.S. to participate in their first-ever pilot program, representing a cross-section of breeds and disciplines. Participating facilities will receive gifts and discounts from Marketing Alliance member companies and organizations, including a free one-year Professional Membership from United States Pony Clubs, free Fan Memberships from US Equestrian, a coupon for a free bag of Purina horse feed, a complimentary copy of Platinum Performance magazine, discounts on purchases from Certified Horsemanship Association, Troxel Helmets, Weaver Leather and more.

Troxel is proud to support this new program and the youth athletes that will be participating.

Interscholastic Equestrian Association

Now in its 18th year, the The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), has nearly 14,000 members across the United States riding and coaching Hunt Seat, Western and Dressage disciplines. The non-profit (501(c)3) was organized to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction available to middle and secondary school students and is open to public and private schools and barn teams.

There is no need for a rider to own a horse because the IEA supplies a mount and tack to each equestrian for competitions. Its purpose is to set minimum standards for competition, provide information concerning the creation and development of school associated equestrian sport programs, to generally promote the common interests of safe riding instruction and competition and education on matters related to equestrian competition at the middle and secondary school levels.

Beginning in 2019, Troxel was named an official helmet of IEA and has pledged to provide more than $18,000 worth of helmet certificates to be used as prizes for IEA riders at Hunt Seat, Dressage and Western National Finals as well as other financial and in-kind support. Additionally, Troxel will offer helmet safety education materials and discounts for all IEA members.

West Coast Barrel Racing Association

The West Coast Barrel Racing Association (WCBRA) and Troxel Helmets have partnered to sweeten the Helmet Side Pot at the 2019 WCBRA Finals being held September 1-3 in King City, California.

The $200 per round added money Troxel Helmet Side Pot is open to all competitors at the WCBRA Finals who are wearing an ASTM/SEI certified equestrian helmet. Over $6,500 was awarded at the first ever WCBRA Finals Helmet Side Pot in 2018. In addition to the 80% payout in the 5D format, Troxel is awarding a $100 Helmet Certificate to each round winner and average winner. The Helmet Side Pot gives riders the chance to win substantial added money, all for making the decision to protect themselves by wearing a helmet.

The WCBRA Finals is one of the top ranked divisional Barrel Race Finals in the world. The number of entries, added money and total payout has elevated the WCBRA amongst the ranks of many historic and prestigious events. The WCBRA has the highest added money of all divisional shows by over $100,000 and is experiencing record breaking growth again in 2019.

Women's Professional Rodeo Association

The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) is the oldest women’s sports organization in the country. The Association started in 1948 with a group of Texas ranch women who wanted to add a little color and femininity to the rough-and-tumble sport of rodeo. A major move at the time, 38 women met in a hotel in San Angelo, Texas, on February 28, 1948, to change the way they were being treated in the male-dominated world of rodeo. These women banded together to create the very first professional sports association created solely for women by women – the Girls Rodeo Association (GRA).

The GRA began with 74 original members with 60 approved contests with a total payout of $29,000. In 1981, the GRA changed its name to the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA). Today, the association boasts more than 3,000 members, over 1,500 events and payouts totaling over $5 million.

The WPRA, headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., provides opportunities for women across the United States and Canada to compete in the timed events of barrel racing, team roping, breakaway roping, and tie-down roping.
